Tournament Rules
- This tournament is a Handicap Tourney and has a Moral Support sanction from the United States Bowling Congress and is open to all members of the Knights of Columbus. Team format is 4 man, which must be Knights of Columbus members in good standing.
- Bowlers will use their highest average of at least 21 games for the 2009-2010 season. If a bowler does not have an average from 2009-2010, his current average of at least 21 games from the 2010-2011 season will be used. If a bowler does not have an established average for the last two years, he will be given a Handicap based on the Team events average scores. This makes it so everyone can be comfortable with their Handicap. If a bowler's average at the time of the tournament is more than 10 pins higher than last season's highest average for 21 games, the current average will be used in this tournament.
- Each bowler shall receive a handicap of 80% of the difference between his average and two hundred and twenty (220) pins in each event entered.
- It shall be the bowler's responsibility to verify the accuracy of his average, whether originally reported by themselves or by anyone else. Failure to use the proper average shall disqualify the score if the submitted average is lower than the actual average, thereby resulting in a higher handicap. Prize winnings shall be based on the submitted average if it is higher than the actual average.
- Correction of averages can be made until completion of the first game of the series, or within 48 hours after the completion of the series, provided that the tournament manager, prior to the completion of the first game, has given written authorization of such delay.
- Any falsification on the entry blank will be reported to the USBC.
- The tournament secretary is authorized to re-rate the average of any bowler prior to participating, pursuant to Rule 319 A through E. Any player whose tournament scores require an adjustment of his current average, must submit his adjusted average in writing before bowling or prior to completion of the first game in the tournament. No tournament prize winnings need be reported.
- ALL PRIZE FEE PORTIONS OF THE ENTRY FEE WILL BE PAID OUT. AT LEAST ONE PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED FOR EACH TEN ENTRIES OR PART THEREOF IN TEAM AND MINOR EVENTS. ONE PRIZE IN TWENTY ENTRIES OR PART THEREOF IN THE "ALL EVENTS" CATEGORY.
- A bowler may bowl more than once in the Team Event, but no more than two men can bowl on the same team more than once. The first Team Event score counts towards the All Events score. A BOWLER MAY BOWL ONLY ONCE IN THE SINGLES AND DOUBLES EVENTS.
- All USBC members have high score recognition. Eligible non-USBC members may qualify by purchasing an unattached membership for S21.00 before bowling.
- Names in the team, singles and doubles events must be listed in the order in which you want them to appear on the score sheet, which will be prepared in advance. Entries with the word "partner or partners" are unacceptable.
- Captains must check with Tournament Officials not less than thirty minutes prior to the scheduled bowling time. Any situation not specifically covered by the foregoing set of rule will be governed by the "PLAYING RULES" of the United States Bowling Congress.
- Make checks payable to: K of C State Bowling Tournament. ENTRIES CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14th, 2011.
